Information is still emerging about the suspect and his motivations — but the 26-year-old Santiago was carrying a military ID when he was apprehended. At one point, he received treatment for mental health issues.

Law enforcement sources told NBC News that Santiago, born in March of 1990 in New Jersey, flew from Anchorage to Minneapolis-St. Paul on Thursday night on Delta flight 1088. On Friday, he boarded Delta flight 2182 from Minneapolis-St. Paul to Fort Lauderdale. Santiago was arrested and is said to be in police custody, unharmed.
